Lake Grove Diner, 2211 Nesconset Highway, Lake Grove: This family-owned classic diner has nearly 100 wraps, paninis, and specialty sandwiches on a classic menu.

"Chicken souvlaki sandwich which comes in their delicious pita with tomatoes, onions and their homemade tzatziki sauce. I got it deluxe but substituted the fries for a baked potato," says a post on Yelp by Alex B. of Brooklyn.

The Blue Duck Bakery Cafe, 309 E. Main St., Riverhead: A true bakery with a cafe where you sit and eat sandwiches made on fresh artisan bread.

Peter T. of Syracuse on Yelp mentioned a recent order.  "Our sandwich choices ham and brie, ham and gruyere and corn chowder. Everything was very good!"

Old City Public House in Ronkonkoma, 200 Portion Road, Ronkonkoma: Cajun chicken, chicken cutlet and roast beef sandwiches are on a reasonably priced lunch menu at this tavern and restaurant. 

Tracy L. of Ronkonkoma on Yelp said, "Food is really good, chicken noodle soup, roast beef on a garlic roll sandwich and a more than decent drink makes for a great dinner! You're never rushed, service is spot-on and the decor is comfortable and casual. Definitely recommended."

Crickets, 98 N. Main St., Sayville: It's a local haunt with American grill fare, draft beers, and TVs to watch sports. Sandwiches on toasted French bread include Philly, sliced shell steak with melted cheese and sauteed onions and Henry Tudor, roasted beef au jus and melted Swiss cheese on garlic bread.

Shannon H. of Long Island mentioned this sandwich in a Yelp review: "Henry Tudor: Very yummy. Juicy roast beef, fresh bread, melted swiss... definitely recommend this sandwich. Five out of five stars."

PeraBell Food Bar, 69 E. Main St., Patchogue: Here you get food, beer, TV at the bar and these hearty sandwiches:  French Dip Sandwich served on a garlic brioche roll with provolone cheese, crispy chicken sandwich with bacon and cheddar chipotle dressing. 

Thomas Zito in a Facebook post on their page said, "Great place excellent food!!
